However, if his wife gives a birth in hospital, then it is the nurse who will

the baby that there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger; second
he should give a good name to his baby. The prophed Muhammad saw. (peace be
upon him) said, “on the day of reckoning you will be called by your names;
therefore, have good names”; third he should shave off the hair of his infants
on the seventh day after the birth, sacrifice two goats on behalf of a male and

UNIT II
CHOOSING A MARRIAGE PARTNER IN ISLAM
The success or failure of a marriage depends on the couple;
the husband and the wife. They make the marriage work or fail, it is up to
them. In islam, to make a marriage happy, a muslim should choose his life
partner based on the Islamic teaching. Islam teaches muslims some points in
choosing a life partner. First, because of her beauty; second, because of her
wealth; third, because of her offspring;
and fourth, because of her religion. However, her religion is the most
important thing of all. Why ? because the prophet muhammad saw. (peace be upon
him) said, “to a man, the most beneficial thing in this world is a pious and
obedient wife. Therefore, if a muslim wishes to have a succesfull marriage, he must
choose a wife to-be because of her religion. Her beauty and wealth may give
temporary pleasure only; but it is a pious wife that will bring light and mercy into home.
UNIT III
OBLIGATORY BATH IN ISLAM
People usually take a bath two times a day, in the morning
and in the afternoon. However, in islam there is a period when a muslim or a

a certain group of muslim or muslimats. Who are they? When should they take an
obligatory bath? At certain time, a married muslim and a married muslimat must
take an obligatory bath. To a husband and a wife, taking a bath is obligatory
after sexual intercourse; to a woman in general after her menstruation or her
childbirth. To a young man, after his wet dream characterized by discharge of
